Banagher is home to the Coarse Angling Centre, which holds annual competitions in April, May, September and October each year. The river at Banagher fishes well for bream, rudd, hybrids, pike, perch, eels and some brown trout. There is some salmon fishing, and visitors are encouraged to hire boats and explore the waterways of the area.
Other good sites in the area are Meelick which has islands, pools and weirs, Brosna and Little Brosna rivers.
