The two of us have just completed a 10 night cruise on the Shannon on a Carlow class cruiser (the smallest you can get) from Carrickcraft at Banagher. As first timers we were initially apprehensive, but the support and reassurance both from Brian Downey at Shannon River and Carrickcraft at Banagher were first class. Learning to “Drive”? Only gripes if I had any would be where to get rid of rubbish in one or two places though an amazing lady in a shop in killaloe took ours so maybe knowing where the bins are would be good eg. mount shannon. I also mentioned to the cruiser company that the water hose on the boat was about 10-15 feet short. Only very minor things so.

We had a great time. The staff were helpful and friendly and all the visitors were great too.
The only issue we had was the steering on our boat made it unusable on the Thur evening we arrived. And it wasn’t fixed until the next afternoon, so we didn’t get to actually go out on the boat until a day after we arrived, so we lost time.
